Pallet Guide

The following diagrams show the major components of stringer and block pallets. Of these two types, the stringer pallet is the more common design used in the United States.
 
 
 
Both of the above designs show pallets with bottom deckboards. Pallets without bottom deckboards are often called skids (or single-face pallets). Note that, when describing the overall "footprint" of a pallet, the length is stated first and then the width (for example, a stringer pallet with 48" stringers and 40" deckboards is described as 48" x 40").
